Isy Goldwasser co-founded Thync to advance a new frontier within the healthcare and consumer product industries. Prior to founding Thync, Mr. Goldwasser was the first employee and a founding member of Symyx Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMMX) where he served numerous roles including President and then CEO over a period of 16 years - including taking the company public and building the publicly traded business for 10 years.

Mr. Goldwasser established a number of large, strategic partnerships with global corporations that totaled more than $500M in revenue. After constructing a successful merger between Symyx and Accelrys (Nasdaq: ACCL), Mr. Goldwasser became an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Khosla Ventures in 2010. He is a named inventor on more than 40 U.S., European and Canadian patents and currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Scripps Research Institute.

    • Dr. Jamie Tyler
    • BS & PhD, Behaviorial Neuroscience, UAB
      Postdoctoral Fellowship, Neurocience, Harvard University

READ BIO

Dr. Jamie Tyler's scientific and engineering efforts focus on developing products and solutions for noninvasive medical and consumer health devices, as well as neuromodulation solutions for national defense and security needs. These include methods and devices for cognitive and physical performance enhancement, as well as for treatment of mental health conditions, and he is credited with discovering Thync's core technology.

Prior to Thync, Dr. Tyler was an Associate Professor in the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. He is an expert in neurobiology, bioimaging and investigating brain circuit plasticity and function, and has deep experience in developing, applying, and advancing brain stimulation and neuromodulation technologies. Previously, Jamie was an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences, as well as Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute.

    • Dr. Sumon Pal
    • PhD, Neurobiology, University of Pittsburgh
      Postdoctoral Fellowship, Neurocience, Harvard University

READ BIO

In 2013, Dr. Pal created the first embodiment of the method used in the Thync bioelectronics platform for noninvasive modulation of autonomic neural circuits. Dr. Pal then led the development and testing of Thync’s neuromodulation platform and was the architect of the algorithms used for stress and anxiety reduction. In 2017, Dr. Pal discovered the link between the use of Thync’s neuromodulation platform and autoimmune disorders. Tragically in 2019, Dr. Pal passed away unexpectedly — we celebrate his legacy and our hearts are with his family.

Prior to Thync, Dr. Pal was at the Molecular and Cellular Biology Department and Center for Brain Science at Harvard University where he researched extensively on brain circuit plasticity and function, carbon nanotube arrays for detecting electrical activity in brain tissue, and cortical circuitry involved in sensory information processing. Dr. Pal received a PhD. in Neurobiology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he discovered a novel cellular pathway involved in neurodegeneration which has since led to therapies being developed for stroke recovery.
